Library Page

The Polk City Community Library is seeking energetic and enthusiastic part-time Library Pages to work evenings and approximately every third Saturday. The ideal candidate is excited about providing outstanding customer service to library patrons. This position will be responsible for duties pertaining to the day-to-day operations of the Library and assisting patrons with regards to library services. The individual best suited for this position must have excellent communication and organizational skills; a competence in technology; knowledge of libraries and the Dewey Decimal System; strong attention to detail; the ability to listen carefully, take instructions, and learn procedures quickly. This candidate must have the ability to build and maintain relationships with co-workers and library patrons. 

Responsibilities include: working the circulation desk, aiding patrons in locating needed materials, shelving/reading/straightening shelves, inventory and basic cleaning and sanitation tasks.. Minimum age requirement is 16 years of age.

Basic computer skills

Reliable transportation

Ability to work 6-10 hours per week . Employees must be available 5:00-8:00 pm on weekdays and 10:00-4:00 on Saturdays.

Must sign a waiver for background check of child abuse directory and criminal records check
