MISSION STATEMENT

The Friends of the Polk City Community Library is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization charged with advocacy, fund-raising, and programming initiatives to help make our Library a thriving community center of discovery and life-long learning.  Contributions to the Friends provide the Library purchasing power beyond its municipal allocations.  The initiatives of the Friends

MEETINGS

The Friends of the Polk City Community Library meet quarterly on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, 6:30 p.m. at the Library.  All meetings are open to the members and to the public. Anyone interested in supporting the Library is welcome and encouraged to attend

FUNDRAISING

Brick Commemoration Fund Raiser

Memorialize your Loved One with an engraved brick or granite block for the Library’s ‘Walk of Memories and Memorials’ for a minimum of $100.00

 Additionally, you can make a personal donation maximizing it with an employer match or you can make a personal donation. 

To donate, please download the application form, or pick up a form at the library.

Polk City Fareway Friends’ Roundup 

May 21-26, 2019 

Proceeds go towards updating the Library ‘Teen Area’.

Ring Toss – Toss It To Win It

Friends very successful ring toss needs 2 liter pop donations or monetary donations!

The Ring Toss is during the Polk City Festival July 2019 and is in the Polk City Square.

Please make your donations to the Polk City Community Library by the THURSDAY prior.

All proceeds from the ring toss are used to enhance the Polk City Community Library facilities and their programs.

Friends of the Library Annual Book Sale 2019

Friends of the Library book sale include books, puzzles, CDs, and DVDs for sale. Cash or Check ONLY, no credit cards.

***Public donations of books and other materials will be accepted AFTER April 1st at the Polk City Community Library.

 

Book Bags and Bookmarks

 

Book bags and Bookmarks are now available at the library for $2.00.

 

Projects Supported By Friends Of The Library

Friends’ purchased an electronic sign for the Library.  This electronic sign is managed by the Library staff from their computers and lists all programs at the Library and community, increasing excitement and awareness in the community.

 

Friends of the Library supported the purchase of Adventure Passes to:

Blank Park Zoo, Botanical Center, Science Center and Living History Farms

Furniture at the fireplace
