Prisoners of War in Iowa - Linda McCann

Iowa housed about 25,000 German, Italian, and Japanese prisoners of war from 1943-1946. These were men captured and brought to the U.S. during World War II. Algona and Clarinda were the main camps in Iowa, and there were about 17 branch camps where the POWs did summer and fall work. Linda was able to speak with people who worked with or had gotten to know the prisoners, and shares their memories.
